Guerrilla Knitting

The "Graffiti" of the knitting world

There has been an arts festival in my neck of the woods over the past two weeks.

Today I went to have a squiz and found this "knitted" tree.

It's kinda quirky and this stick insect has already claimed it as his home.

Cool huh

Autumn Flowers and a Trip to Sydney

Went to visit my friend in Sydney last weekend.

Clearly I have a lot to learn about taking night photo's, although this is a kooky shot of the Harbour Bridge.

Opera house at night ... awesome building whatever the light.

Still say the best view of Sydney is in your rear view mirror .. those drivers are dangerous.

Now for some flowers in my garden this Autumn.

Chinese Lantern

Pineapple Sage (really does smell like pineapple)

Happy Easter

I like the way the morning sun shines through the trees on my back garden.

Perfect spot for an Easter Egg hunt.

Project and Purchase

I purchased this beautiful felted bag from my daughters online shop http://www.etsy.com/shop/KnittedForEwe. I love everything about it... the tree detail, the colour, the size and the little ceramic bird closer.

I taught my daughter to knit many years ago but she is a much better knitter than I am.

My project is a copycat idea from http://www.abeachcottage.typepad.com/.
I bought a $2.50 tube of artists acrylic and painted a framed picture I bought at a garage sale for $2.00. I typed and printed out the bus destinations in my area, glued them together and glued it to the board. So easy, inexpensive and so effective. It has found a home in my garden room.

Computer problem fixed

My computer has been at the warranty repairers for two months (not the 10 days they originally told me) so I have some catching up to do.

I tried to talk this guy into bringing in the bin. No. I couldn't get my children to bring it in when they were at home either.

Iris were blooming

Angel Trumpets were beautiful

Saw Julie and Julia at the cute local theatre

Before

After
Made a slip cover for my lounge

Watched my favourite parrot have his breakfast

Saw The World ship in the bay .... huge beside that sailing boat

Went on a whale watch tour. No whales so was given a ticket for a tour next year. That will be in October when the whales come into the bay (sea sickness in the open water is not much fun). Did see dolphins (those are the specks in the water) and penguins.

Visited my friend in her new home. She walks her dog in Hyde Park. http://www.discoversydney.com.au/parks/hydepark.html We had a great couple of days. There was lots of walking, talking, laughing and eating. She lives right in the city and I live near the beach...we have the best of both worlds.

Happy New Year.
